The Finance Division (FD) of the Regional Office (RO) spearheaded the Regional Workshop on the Reconciliation of Accounts and the Preparation of CY 2019 Midyear Financial Reports.

Held at the Mallberry Suites Business Hotel, on July 8-12, 2019, the regional workshop was hosted by the Division of Misamis Oriental under the leadership of Schools Division Superintendent Randolph B. Tortola.

The activity was participated in by the regional office/divisional accountants and budget officers, select financial staff responsible for the preparation and submission of the required reports, and bookkeepers of the 39 secondary Implementing Units (IUs).

Gracing the occasion on the second day was Regional Director Arturo B. Bayocot who stressed in his inspirational message the importance of achieving balance between career and the home.

“Learn to balance work and life. True success lies not only on how you excellently perform your work but also being able to bring your success with your family,” Bayocot said.

Meanwhile, FD Chief Administrative Officer Mary Ann D. Neri gave updates on the recent issuances of the Department and also facilitated a forum on financial operations.

Further discussed were topics like additional provisions on the guidelines on the FY 2018 Release and Utilization of TVL Funds, Amendment to Policies and Guidelines on Overtime Services, Revised Implementing Guidelines on the Direct Release, Use, Monitoring, and Reporting of MOOE Allocation of Schools, and Implementing Guidelines on the Utilization of Program Support Funds to Alternative Learning System.

Completing the regional workshop was the Schools Division Offices’ (SDOs) full compliance with the required submission of accurate midyear financial reports, which the FD was able to facilitate with its strict implementation of the “No Submission-No Certificate of Appearance Policy.”│ Riza Jean D.
